Where can I find my student's default Google/Chromebook sign in information?
- Log in to your PowerSchool parent or student account.
- Enter the username and password in PowerSchool.
- If you do not know your PowerSchool log-in information, click the Forgot Username or Password link.
- If you do not have a PowerSchool account, Click the Create Account tab.

- Enter the username and password in PowerSchool.
- Click on #FutureReady on the left hand side of the screen.
- Here is where you will find:
- Your student’s Google username and default password (students grades 6-12 are responsible for their own password creation).

Chromebook Not Turning On
1. Plug in the Chromebook. Our devices have 2 charging ports (one on each side) you may try using both ports to help power it on.
2. Press the refresh button (top row 4th button) and the power button at the same time.
3. If that does not work, try opening and closing the lid to the device. Sometimes the device does not recognize that it is open and will stay stuck in "closed" mode.

Clear Browsing Cache
1. Open Chrome and click on the 3 dots on the top right corner.
2. Click on More Tools.
3. Select Clear browsing data.
4. Select "All Time" for time range from the drop down menu and check the boxes next to cookies and cached images and files.
5. Press Clear Data at the bottom.
6. Restart your browser session by closing and re-opening Google Chrome.
Update Chromebook
1. Press on the time on the bottom right corner of your home screen.
2. Select Settings
3. Click on About Chrome OS
4. Select Check for updates. If there are updates available, the device will begin the install.
5. Once the install is at 100%, press Restart and updates for your device will be complete.
Asking For Old Password
Keyboard Language
1. If your keyboard is typing different characters than it should, it is most likely in a different language.
2. You can check this by pressing CTRL + Shift + Spacebar at the same time. This will cycle through the input languages you have on your device.
3. You can see which language you are set on your taskbar as well:
Sound Settings
1. Make sure your Output settings are set correctly and your volume is turned up.
2. At the bottom right select the Time.
3. You will see a volume slider, make sure that it turned up.
4. Find your device input and output settings by pressing > next to the volume slider.
5. Make sure your Output is set correctly (speaker internal or headphones). The set output will have a check mark next to it.
Allowing Flash

Open Google Chrome

In the top left next to the refresh button there is an I with a circle around it (May also say secure or not secure or may be a lock), click that.

When you click the I (May also say secure or not secure or may be a lock) with a circle around it a dropdown menu will appear. Look for flash and select Allow. **You may have to click on Site Settings*

A ribbon will appear asking you to reload the site.
What do I do if my Chromebook incurs damage or isn't functioning properly?
Techincal Support & Loaners
During the school year, if your Chromebook is not functioning properly:
- Students in Grades K-5 should alert his/her teacher
- Students in Grades 6-12 should send and e-mail to helpdesk@dunlapstudents.net. In this email, please include:
- Name of Student
- Name of school
- Description of problem
NOTE: ONLY E-MAILS FROM DUNLAP STUDENTS OR FACULTY WILL BE RESPONDED TO DURING eLEARNING DAYS
If necessary, a technical support employee of the District will assess the
Chromebook and attempt to correct any problems with it. In all grades, students will be
issued a loaner device, if available, while this student’s Chromebook is being repaired.
The loaner Chromebook should be treated the same as the student’s device.
Loss of or Damage to Chromebook
If your Chromebook is lost or damaged:
- Students in Grades K-5 should alert his/her teacher
- Students in Grades 6-12 should send and e-mail to helpdesk@dunlapstudents.net. In this email, please include:
- Name of Student
- Name of School
- Description of damage
- In case of loss, last known location of Chromebook
NOTE: ONLY E-MAILS FROM DUNLAP STUDENTS OR FACULTY WILL BE RESPONDED TO DURING eLEARNING DAYS
Students and their families are responsible for cooperating with the District in the recovery, repair, or
replacement of your child’s Chromebook.
Am I responsible for the damage or loss of a Chromebook?
In the event your Chromebook is lost or damaged, you will be responsible for replacement or repairs as follows:
- If the District determines that the damage is the result of an equipment failure covered by a warranty, the warranty will apply with no further action required.
- If the damage is the result of a student’s negligence or intentional destruction, or if the Chromebook is lost, you will be required to pay in full for the repair or replacement of the equipment according to the District’s cost share program.
1st Repair – 100% / 0%
2nd Repair – 50% / 50%
3rd Repair – 20% / 80%
4th Repair – Replace device (100% student cost/responsibility)
