Phishing emails and texts
Phishing is a way cybercriminals trick you into giving them personal information. They do this by sending fake emails or text messages that look like they come from a person or organization you trust. These scams could include a link to a fake login page or attachment. If you fall for it, you could lose money and access to your accounts, or even have your identity stolen. An example of this would be receiving an email with a link to a fake bank website asking for your login details. Giving this away could compromise your accounts.
How to spot a fake website
Many fake websites look like they have legitimate URLs, but actually they contain slight variations or spelling mistakes. They may include small misspellings or use characters that look similar to others in order to spoof real URLs, such as replacing the letter "o" with the number "0."

In the example above Paypal.com is spelt the correct way using a lower case L, While the bottom PaypaI.com is Spelt using an Upper case i.
