Hello, I’m the elementary counselor for Dunlap District #323. My goal is to assist students and teachers in a proactive manner by focusing on prevention and early intervention of non-academic concerns that affect students’ achievement. I help promote an environment in our schools that encourages academic and social success for all students. The referral system I initiated works in two ways. Any staff member or a parent/guardian may refer a student. In addition, any student in the third through fifth grades may self-refer. Whenever I see a student for the first time, I contact their parents/guardians, to hopefully gain information about the concern that’s been raised. I believe in a strong home-school connection among all to ensure a positive school experience. Open communication is an integral component in facilitating this connection. I encourage every parent to stay in touch with your child’s school. If I can help with this communication, please contact me by phone or email. My schedule is below; you are welcome to contact me on any day, not just the day I’m at your child’s school.

Often times I come across a website I feel would be beneficial to you as parents. I haven’t until now posted those links for you. Now I have two such sites that are worth posting for you to access. I don’t endorse any products, I just feel that a site may offer you some answers. One of the sites simply lists areas of concern and suggestions of various sites available addressing those issues. I have not accessed each one of the possibilities under each issue, but I got information about this site from a reliable source.
