2009 H1N1 Influenza

DUNLAP COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #323

H1N1 Influenza Information

Prevention remains the key to protecting the health of students and limiting the spread of the virus. Our school nurses and District administrators are working to stay informed. Click here for a letter to District parents.

As with any infectious, preventative actions should include:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. If a tissue is not available, cough/sneeze into your elbow.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
  • Stay home from school if you are sick. Do not return to school until you have been fever free for 24 hours without a fever reducing medication.
