Math
Each day we begin our math lesson with a problem called daily math. The children are given a problem which may challenge them to think in different ways to find the answer. We also try and do a lot of hands on math in second grade. The main lessons we will focus on are time, money, and borrowing. In addition to the daily math lesson, we will be taking timed tests on the basic addition and subtraction facts. Your child will be bringing flashcards home to aid in studying for these tests. Please take 10-15 minutes each night to study the flashcards.
