Hello! My name is Rachel Knapp. This is my second year teaching in the Dunlap district. Last year, I taught first grade at Dunlap Grade School .

I am from Congerville , IL , which is between Bloomington and Peoria . My school years were spent within the Eureka School District . I have always had a desire to teach. As a student, I often helped a first grade teacher in her classroom… a tradition that gave me a love of learning and varied experiences at this level. After I graduated from high school, I was hired on as a teachers' aide and kindergarten teacher at a private school.

From there, I went to Illinois Central College and Illinois State University , finishing my education with the Pekin Professional Development School . Through this program, I interned in kindergarten and fourth grade, finishing my student teaching in kindergarten.

In my spare time, I enjoy rollerblading, reading, and spending time with friends. My love for reading is a gift that I long to pass on to my students!
