Principle of Design Guidelines
Create Emphasis (word "DISNEY" is the FOCAL POINT)
  • DISNEY letters: Created from WordArt with a picture fill effect using a photograph from the Disney Photo Gallery
  • Negative space (background): Includes a two clip art images from the Clip Art Gallery, a rectangle filled with gradient, drawings of Mickey and Cinderellas's castle
  • Positive space (foreground): Focal point fills 75 percent of the postcard
Produce Rhythm (repetition of fill effects, colors, and shapes)
  • Repeated shapes are created by the WordArt letters
  • Repeated fill effects
    • Use colors from the Unit 8 Notes Worksheet
    • Image quality of the six photographs that are used
    • Image quality of the two clip art images that are used
Achieve Balance (symmetric design)
  • Placement of WordArt word "DISNEY"
  • Placement of words in the designer font at the top left and bottom right corners
  • Placement of clip art
Attain Unity (pick a style and stick with it)
  • Color scheme: Use same colors as listed on Unit 8 Notes Worksheet
  • Fonts used for words in upper left and bottom right corners
