Dunlap Middle School sixth-grade student, Alexa Kolesiak, was the winner of the Illinois Heartland Section of the American Chemical Society’s 2014 Illustrated Poetry Contest in the 6th-8th grade category.  Each year the Dunlap Middle School students in Mrs. Fennell’s sixth-grade English classes participate in ACS contest which coincides with the celebration of Earth Day. This year students were asked to write and illustrate a poem using the theme, “The Wonders of Water.”  Alexis wrote an original end- rhyme poem with a colored pencil creation.  Congratulations, Alexis!
