The Challenger Crew

      The Challenger space ship was supposed to launch Christa McAuliffe into space.  Christa McAuliffe was supposed to be the first teacher in space.  Unfortunately on January 28, 1986 at 11:39, 90 seconds after launch the shuttle exploded.  The explosion was caused by the liquid oxygen oxide and liquid nitrogen tank separated.  We remember the crew today by The Challenger Learning Center,  a place where kids can simulate missions.
