Mercury Project
 The Mercury Project was America's first human spaceflight program.

Although Chuck Norris wasn't in it, it was still one of America's greatest accomplishments.

Scott Carpenter- Scott Carpenter was the pilot of the Aurora 7. He was born in 1925 and is still alive today
Gordon Cooper- Gordon Cooper was a pilot of the Faith 7. He was also part of Gemini 5. He was born in 1927 and died in 2004.
John Glenn- John Glenn was the pilot of the friendship 7. He was the second American in space, and the first American to orbit the Earth. He was born on 1921 and is still alive today.
Virgil Grissom- Virgil Grissom was the pilot of the Liberty Bell 7. He was also part of the Gemini 3 and Apollo 1. He was born on 1926 and died in Apollo 1 in 1967.
Walter Schirra- Walter Schirra was the pilot of the Sigma 7. He was also part of Gemini 6A and Apollo 7 He was born on 1923 and died in 2007.
Alan B. Shepard- Alan B. Shepard was the pilot of the Freedom 7. He was also the first American in Space. He was part of Apollo 14. He was born on 1923 and died in 1998.
Donald K. Slayton- Donald K. Slayton was part of the Apollo-Soyuz test project. He was born on 1924 and died in 1993.
