Titan is the largest moon of Saturn containing about 60 confirmed moons. In fact, Titan was also the 1st known moon discovered on Saturn (our 6th planet in our solar system) by Dutch astronomer Christiaan Huygens in 1655. Titan's surface is similar to Venus' as being composed of water, ice, and many rocks. It's dense, opaque atmosphere prevented the understanding of Titan's surface until 2004 when new information accumulated with the arrival of the Cassini - Huygens mission. The atmosphere of Titan is primarily composed of Nitrogen and it's climate includes Methane and Ethane clouds. It is the 2nd largest moon in our solar system. Titan is the 6th Ellipsoidal moon from Saturn. It is described as a planet-like moon. It's volume appears to be lager than our smallest planet, Mercury, since Pluto was classified as a Dwarf Planet in August, 2006. Titan's climate, including much wind and rain, creates surface features that are similar to those on Earth, such as Sand Dunes and Shore Lines, and like Earth, is dominated by seasonal weather patterns.
