of the professionals think it the crater looked like. On the bottom left is what the

scientists thought it looked like as it was coming down.

The crater is about 180 kilometers across.  That makes

it one of the largest confirmed impact structure in the world

It landed on the Yucatan

peninsula in Mexico. It was located near the town of Chicxulub after which

the crater is named. This crater was discovered by

Glen Penfield. They think it landed in the cretatious period. The

scientists think that it landed roughly 65 million years ago. Some

people and scientists think that this could have been the cause of the extinction

of the dinosaurs. Some critics argue about this. Some people and scientists also

think that is could have been a piece of an astroid that broke into tons of pieces but

but none of these have been proven.
