About Miss Keenan

 

 

 

Miss Keenan is in her second year of teaching at Dunlap. She currently teaches orchestra at all four elementary schools, in addition to teaching at the middle school. Miss Keenan also teaches some kindergarten and first grade general music at Ridgeview and Wilder-Waite. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School. Mt. Lebanon High School is known for having an exceptional fine arts department, winning the National Blue Ribbon School Award with a fine arts emphasis (1997-1998 school year).

Miss Keenan continued her education at Ball State University, located in Muncie, IN. While at Ball State, she was a regular member of chamber groups and the Ball State Symphony Orchestra. Miss Keenan also spent two summers as at participant at the ARIA Summer Music Festival. After graduating in May 2006 with a degree in instrumental and general music education (with a minor in music history), Miss Keenan was hired by Dunlap C.U.S.D. She also maintains a private studio of violin students and regularly plays with the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra in Muscatine, IA.

In her spare time, Miss Keenan enjoys exploring the great outdoors, horseback riding, playing fiddle music, her Bible study, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers (and other football), and spending time with friends and family.
