Dunlap Middle School, home of the Panthers, is one of two middle schools in Dunlap Community Unit District 323. This district is one of the fastest growing districts in the Peoria, Illinois area. DMS houses nearly 650 students in grades six through eight.
Our website will be a useful tool in addressing many of your needs. Communication with all stakeholder groups – students, parents, and our community members is of utmost importance to us. Links to various activities and educational opportunities can be found at the right. If you can’t find the information you are looking for, please call 243-7778 for further assistance.
DMS embraces the middle school concept. Teams of teachers from each grade level meet daily to ensure that the needs of the whole child are addressed. Interdisciplinary units and activities are planned to create an educational experience for each student that allows them to grow intellectually and socially.
Curriculum is aligned with state and, when appropriate, national standards. Each student is assisted in achieving their full potential through the rigorous lessons, diverse activities and multiple strategies used to address their individual needs. Our curriculum will challenge students to explore beyond the obvious as they become lifelong learners.
Students' best interests are at the center of every decision and we look to data to drive our initiatives. DMS plan on a page aligns and unifies us with all District 323 schools. This document is supported by action plans that allow us to monitor progress toward our goals.
We look forward to the new school year and thank you for visiting our website.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Dunlap Middle School,
