Typing Your Paper
- Using File - Page Setup
- Change the top, bottom, left, and right margins to 1"
- Click the OK button

- Do not type a title at the top of the first page. A title page will already be included
with your paper. (See instructions for Typing the Title Page.)
- Do not include a header or a footer.
- Indent each new papragraph by touching the tab key once. Tab should be set at 1/2 inch.
- Quotes are not allowed unless approved by your English teacher.
- The required length of the paper is two to three pages. A paper will receive point deductions if

- The paper is longer than three pages
- Two copies of your paper are required.
- One copy is needed for your English teacher.
- One copy is needed for your history teacher.
- You will receive a zero in the class where the paper is not turned into the teacher.
- Papers handed in one day late will receive half credit. No papers will be accepted after one day.
- Any student who cannot print papers at home has the option of e-mailing his/her paper to a teacher. This should be
done no later than two days in advance of the due date.
Final Draft
- Final drafts should include a title page, paper, and works cited in that order. If you have extra
credit for history, it is placed between the paper and the works cited for the history paper only.
- Papers handed in one day late will receive half credit. Papers handed in after this will not receive credit.
If you are sick or not in school for any reason on the due date, the paper is expected to be at school
the hour it is due to receive full credit.
- The paper is due at the start of class. Papers should be printed, copied, stapled, and ready to hand in when
class begins. It is not the job of the office staff or the teacher to make your photocopies.
- Staple final reports in the top left hand corner. No cover or folder of any kind will be accepted.
