About our School

Dunlap Middle School is located 15 minutes north of Peoria, Illinois. The school is experiencing rapid growth due to the development of upper-middle class subdivisions. About this Research Project

During the 1999-2000 school year, this research project started as a method for studying about World War II topics. The topics have expanded from just World War II to include topics from the Civil War through the present day. Eighth grade students pick their topics then complete their research during history class using resources available in our Information Resource Center (IRC). While the research is being completed, the students learn proper methods for taking notes, creating works cited entries, and preparing the paper using word processing software.
