from the Parents’ Club!!
If you are the parent of a student at Dunlap High School, then you are a member of the DHS Parents’ Club! Each family should have filled out a Parent’s Club form (Directory Order/volunteer sign-up) during mail in registration. The DHS Parents’ Club provides volunteer services and financial support to the students and staff at Dunlap High School. If you have found that you are able to help out in more ways this year PLEASE don’t hesitate to call one of the Board Members listed below.
There are a variety of ways to be involved ranging from baking goodies or serving with the Hospitality Committee, to placing students for the Job Shadowing Program, to working on our 2 primary fundraisers (Directory Sales and “Pack the Place”). With your involvement and support we can continue to keep DHS one of the top high schools in Illinois!

When and Where are Parents’ Club meetings?
Everyone is welcome to attend the Parents’ Club meetings which are held on the first Thursday of each month at 9:00 am in the DHS Town Center. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2008.
Parent Volunteer Opportunities and their Committee Chairs

Helps with collecting information for placement in the directory and assembling of the directory.
Hospitality- Julie Schneider 692-8405
Assists with the different events in the school by providing baked goods or beverages for the various activities.
Staff Appreciation- Dee Dee Neuhaus 692-0730
Provides treats for the Staff Appreciation events during the year.
Telephone-Jane Collins 243-2439
Provides calling assistance when in need of volunteers
Pack the Place-
Fundraiser Scheduled for Feb. 22, 2008 during basketball game. Food and basket raffles provided.
Decorating- Wendy Simmons 243-7830
Decorates for “Pack the Place”

Coordinates food sales during “Pack the Place”
Basket Fundraiser-Lana Barrack 243-7705 Collects items and puts together baskets for “Pack the Place”.
Job Shadow/ Sherry Miller 243-2525
Provides placement of junior students in careers they are interested in (mid February).
Welcoming- Denise Fitzgerald 243-7199
Puts together Welcome packs for newcomers to the district.
Please feel free to call any of these people if you have any questions or would like to volunteer. During the 2006-2007 school year, over $7000.00 was raised and donated to DHS by the Parents Club. Let’s work together to have another great year at DHS!
