REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION

 

Beginning with the class of 2001, a minimum of twenty (20) units of credit is required for graduation from Dunlap High School. 

 

The following are state and school district requirements for all graduating classes:

 

      4 Years of Language Arts (must include 1 Semester of Speech)

      3 Years of Mathematics (beginning with the Class of 2009)

      2 Years of Social Studies (must include U.S. History and Civics)

      2 Years of Science

      1 Year of either Foreign Language, Art, or Tech Prep

          (Agriculture, Business, Family & Consumer Science, or Industrial Arts)

      1 Semester of Software Applications (beginning with the Class of 2008)

      1 Semester of Resource Management

      4 Years of Physical Education (must include Driver Education classroom and Health)

      Completion of the Prairie State Achievement Examination

 

 

NOTE:  Students must complete English I, II, and III or III (AP) or English IB, IIB, and IIIB, speech, and a semester English elective in order to graduate. Each semester a student must register for at least four (4) solid subjects (those with 1/2 credit per semester) unless exempted by the Administration.  It is recommended that students take 5 solids plus PE each semester in order to graduate on time.  Students who have demonstrated academic proficiency may be allowed to take six (6) solid subjects with Administrative approval.
