This is the first year for Dunlap Eagles Robotics Team (DERT).  Although the name is new, the team was active last year as a part of the Peoria area robotics team known as Robot Casserole. This group of high school students will learn about: basic electronics, software/controls, design and power trains, materials and pneumatics before building a practice robot.  The ultimate goal is to build a robot that will compete in the FIRST robotics competition  (www.usfirst.org) in march of 2007.  Other activities and projects also include video, computer animation, t-shirt design, publicity and community service.  For more information, check out the web page for DERT .
