DIRECTIONS TO AWAY MEETS

(Revised 2008)

 

 

GALESBURG INVITATIONAL  (9-6-08)  Take I-74 West to the Route 34 west exit to Monmouth at Galesburg.  Take Route 34 to the Route 150/Alpha exit.  Turn right (north) on Route 150, cross Lake Storey and turn left at the sign that says Lake Storey Recreation Area.

 

WOODRUFF INVITATIONAL  (9-13-08)  - Detweiller Park

 

LIMESTONE (Alpha Park) (9-30-08) – Take I-474 south to the Airport Road Exit. After exiting, turn left onto Airport Road.     Limestone runs their meets at Alpha Park on the corner of Airport Road and Garfield. The Park is on the left off Airport Road one block before Limestone High School.  Continuing south on Airport Road approximately 3 miles and the high school will be on your right.

 

ALLEMAN INVITE (10-4-08) – The race is at Credit Island Park in Davenport, Iowa.   Take I-74 west toward Galesburg.  Merge onto I-280 toward Moline/Rock Island.  Take the IA-22/Rockingham Rd. exit (exit 8) toward Buffalo.  Turn a slight right onto Rockingham Rd/IA-22 E.  Merge onto W River Drive/US-61 N.  Turn left onto Schmidt Rd.   Travel time to this park is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

 

PEKIN  (10-07-08) –  The course is at Pekin High School across from the Arena.  Take I-474 south to the Pekin exit (Rt. 29).  After exiting, turn right at the light onto Rt. 29.   Go to North Main Street and turn left.  Take that as far as it can go and turn left on Edgewater Drive.  Go to the first light (North Parkway) and turn right.  Take North Parkway to Stadium Drive, which is just before the high school.  If you miss Stadium Drive, continue on North Parkway to Court Street and turn right.   Stadium Drive also has an entrance off of Court Street.  It winds around the back of Pekin High School.

 

RUNNIN’ RED INVITE - Metamora (10-11-08) - Black Partridge Park.  Take Route 116 East into Metamora.  Turn left at the old A & W Root Beer Drive Inn (now called Country Inn).  Go one block and turn left again, drive on to a stop sign (a cemetery will be on your right at the stop sign).  The road will jog to the right, continue on this road out into the country for approximately one mile.  You will come up on a gray farmhouse and the park is just beyond this house.

 

MID ILLINI CONFERENCE MEET (10-17-08) - Detweiller Park.
