The Advanced Placement Psychology course is the equivalent of a half-year college course.  The course is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of human behavior and mental processes.  Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major sub fields within psychology.  They also learn about the methods psychologists use in their science and practice.  The course emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills and a clear, concise, writing style.  The AP course is designed to prepare students for the AP Psychology exam offered by the College Board.
