Sociology is an analysis and study of human social behavior.  Positive human relationships are an essential part of a civilized society and how we interact with each other is important so that we can find answers to questions and solve problems in our world.  Attention is centered on topics such as personality, individual and social development, culture, and crime by reflecting not only on American society but our individuals lives through personal reflection and connections.  Essential questions for the three units are:

            -Why should we study society?  What will society teach us? 

            -Who or what influences who we are and/or what we become? 

            -What are the benefits and challenges of a diverse society?
