612 BIOLOGY I (HONORS)

Length of Course:  One year

Credit Granted:  One-half per semester

Prerequisite:  An “A” in both eighth grade math and science.   A recommendation from the math and science teachers.

Offered To:  Freshmen and Transferred Sophomores

Biology I (Honors) is a performance based course.  Besides the regular laboratory exercises, there will be more discussion type classes as well as cooperative learning.  This work will involve a more hands-on approach with research, experimental design, and computer work.  The topics to be covered will include cells and cell processes, as well as both plants and animals.
