Construction I provide for students to gain skills and knowledge directly related to the Construction and Building Trades.  Instruction includes safety practices in using hand tools and power equipment.  Planned learning experiences allow students to become more skilled in carpentry and building maintenance.  Learning experiences may include constructing a project, wall framing, sheathing and siding buildings, estimating and figuring materials.  Students will develop knowledge and good practices of safety procedures.  All learning experiences are designed to allow the student to acquire job entry skills and knowledge.  In addition to technical skills, course content will reflect the integration of academic and workplace skills.
