105 DESIGN AND GRAPHICS III (PRINTMAKING) (I460)

Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Art I with a grade of “C” or better.

Design and Graphics III provides learning experiences related to the principles, tools, materials, techniques, equipment and processes utilized in the production and reproduction of drawings, layouts, and processes/practices utilized in fine art print making. All learning experiences are designed to allow the student to acquire fine art print making skills and knowledge.  In addition to technical skills, course content will reflect the integration of academic and workplace skills.  Students will work with a variety of printing techniques.  Students will create prints using E-Z cut, linoleum, silkscreen and mono print methods.  Students will also study the historical significance of Intaglio and create an Intaglio print.  Students will keep finished work.
