379 AGRICULTURE WORK-BASED LEARNING II (H475)

Agriculture Work-Based Learning II is a class to train students in agriculture related occupations, including horticulture, agribusiness, natural resources and agriculture mechanization occupations.  Students gain “hands-on” experience in an off-site agriculture internship.  Students must be concurrently enrolled or previously enrolled in one or more of the following advanced level courses: Agriculture Business Operations/Management, Agriculture Resource Management, Applied Environmental Science, Agriculture Mechanics I/II, Physical Science in Agriculture I/II, Biological Science Applications in Agriculture/Plant and Animal Science, Horticulture I/II, Landscaping /Turf Management I/II, Greenhouse Production/Floral Design, or another approved course.  In addition to technical skills, course content will reflect integration of academic and workplace skills.

 

Students will spend at least ten (10) hours per week at a worksite and participate in a related class where they are required to work on a journal concerning their internship experience.
