Mrs. Snyder's Class Expectations

"Manners have no race, no culture, no religion, so we can all use them equally."

Classroom Management

  1. Be prepared: You are expected to bring all the proper materials to class (paper, notebook, pen/pencil, and textbook.).
  2. Students are expected to come into my classroom in a respectful matter.  When the bell rings I expect you to be in your seat and ready for class.  Socializing should be done in the hallway.
  3. Time in class should be used for current class assignments, instead of homework from other classes.

Expectations (Rules)

  • Be respectful to all in the classroom.  Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before speaking.  Pay attention and listen to what others are saying.  Think before you speak and use appropriate language.
  • Enjoy learning the material.  I know not everyone is a history person, but you are expected to come to class ready to learn.
  • Take credit for your OWN work and give credit when credit is due.  Cheating, copying homework, copying assignments, and/or plagiarism are not permitted.  Stay focused on your own work.

Grading

Test/Projects/Quizzes (Major Grades)           Weighted 60%
Homework and Participation                         Weighted 30%
Daily Grades (Section Quizzes)                      Weighted 10%

Absence Policy
It is your responsibility to find out what you missed and to get make-up work when you are absent. You will have the number of days you were absent to make up missed work.

Late Work
Late work is defined as work turned in after the due date for reasons other than an excused absence

                        50% penalty after day one
                        Not accepted after day two

*Failure to write your name on any assignment/test/quiz will result in losing a minimum of 2 points for that assignment.

Passes

You will each be allowed TWO passes for the semester.  Use them wisely.  If at the end of the semester you do not use your passes, you will be given extra credit for each one.

I am aware that there are emergency/special situations, if and when they do occur, passes will be issued at my discretion

Student Handbook
You are required to follow all rules, regulations, and guidelines stated in the handbook.  These policies are in effect in this classroom at all times.  This includes electronic devices!!!
