Third Grade
Classroom Management
Each student will have a point sheet that will record behaviors throughout the day. Whenever a student is using appropriate behaviors, they will receive a "plus" on the point sheet. For inappropriate behaviors, a "minus" is put on the point sheet with a description of that behavior. When a student receives 3 minuses on one point sheet, the sheet will go home to be signed by a parent. This will be returned the next day, and the student will owe a recess. Each plus received is worth one point. Every few weeks all the points all added up, and there is a point store in my room where they will be able to purchase "treasures." Grading PolicyI will use the same grading scale used by all teachers at Banner. However, I require corrections to be made on all assignments that are 73% or below. After the corrections are made, I will average the two grades together with the corrected grade not to exceed 74% C-. Test scores may or may not be raised for a better grade. Each test will be judged according the circumstances surrounding the test and each individual student. Assignment BookAll students are required to fill out their assignment books daily. Parents should look at these daily to see what is going on in the classroom. Parents will be required to sign, or initial, each day in the assignment book. This is a great place to record communications between parents and the teacher.
