Classroom Expectations:
In our classroom we will abide by the ‘rules of good listening' posted on our wall. I believe that Kindergarten is such an important transition into the school system. We will work really hard to learn and practice the appropriate behaviors that are expected in a classroom environment. By using a pocket chart with a red, yellow, and green card, the students will be able to monitor their own behavior throughout the day. Each morning the students will have their green card in the front of their pocket. As we all know, EVERYONE makes mistakes. Therefore, the students will be given a warning first, if one of the rules is broken. If a child has to be reminded a second time, then he/she will be asked to move his/her green card to the back of their pocket (this will put their yellow card in front). This will automatically take 5 minutes off of the next recess. Finally, if the student is reminded a third time and told to move their yellow card to the back to the pocket, then I will contact the parents at home and recess will be taken away (Their red card will be in front). At this point, together we will find a plan for better behavior. Each week an apple tree form will be placed in your child's take-home folder. I will stamp it each night with the earned color for the day.
