Homework Policy

Most homework your child brings home will be class work that he or she did not finish during the day. So, each student may bring home a different amount of homework from day to day.

Homework assignments will also be given from time to time. Daily Geography is a homework assignment that is assigned every Monday and is due on Friday. The students also have a monthly book report and reading log assignment. Due dates for these assignments are given on the monthly newsletter. I encourage students not to procrastinate on these assignments. Thursday nights and the end of each month tend to be very busy times. The students will need to work on budgeting their time.

Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class each day. **Assignments brought in by parents after the school day begins may still be considered late. If an assignment is late, your child will receive a late assignment notice, and he or she will need to finish the assignment at home that night. The late assignment notice needs to be signed by a parent and returned to school the next day with the completed homework. Ten points will be taken off the grade for the late assignment.

If either the late assignment notice or assignment is not returned the next day, your child will miss lunch recess. If the assignment is not completed and returned, it will be considered a zero in the grade book. A zero notice will then be sent home to notify parents of the grade.
