Carnival takes Banner students to a new world each year as the front hall, gymnasium, and cafeteria are adorned with student artwork and inspired decorations. While the theme of our carnival changes each year, the atmosphere is always exciting as we embark on the biggest single fund-raising event of the year. Carnival takes place in March and most of the funds are raised through our awesome basket raffle! Students have three weeks to sell the $1 tickets. Each week, we reward the top selling students and classrooms with fun incentives. Each class is responsible for manning a game booth, inflatable, or concession during the 4 hour event.
Carnival funds provide the bulk of our operating budget and allow us to purchase extras for the school ….like the gymnasium sound system, new playground equipment, and computers! The Carnival committee consists of an overall chairperson, raffle chair, decorations chair, prize chair, kitchen chair, games chair, photo booth chair, and ticket chair, along with a raffle team, a decorations team, and booth coordinators for every class. We need 80-100 parent volunteers during the set-up and event to make it possible. Volunteering for Carnival is an absolute blast and the kids love it when mom & dad participate.
