Dunlap Community School District is committed to empowering our special education students to be successful in their learning environment. We evaluate their needs for assistive technology based on their IEP goals and objectives and support those needs by providing them with tools and resources they need to achieve their goals. We have created consideration forms for teams to use (below) to aid them in the evaluation process.
Assistive technology is defined by any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability. AT also covers a wide range of materials from low tech to high tech.
