Strategic Planning Process Timeline (2009-1010):

August 17th               Overview of the strategic planning process; Complete self-assessment for internal stakeholders (District staff)

September 3rd           Strategic Planning Team kick-off meeting

October 19th              Conduct planning team meeting for data retreat

Oct-Dec                     Strategic Planning Team conducts data retreat with constituent groups  

December 14th          Conduct Strategic Planning Team meeting to envision a preferred future  

Dec/Jan                     Strategic Planning Team conducts envisioning activities with constituent groups and a “strategic plan on a page” is drafted

January 19th              Conduct Strategic Planning Team meeting to set directions:  Establishes goals, indicators, and strategies    

February 16th           Writing Team prepares Draft 

March 22nd               Conduct planning team meeting to review draft and makes final recommendation  

March/April                Board reviews plan, makes any refinements, and approves the plan.

Spring                        District begins to develop tactical and operational action plan to live the plan.

Spring                        Monitoring and tracking schedule developed (Balanced Score Card)

Ongoing                    Progress results are communicated to all stakeholders

Fall 2010                   Schools align school improvement plan to District strategic plan
