All About Me

I’d like to welcome you and your child to second grade!  We have a beautiful school, great curriculum, and a fantastic year planned.  I’d like to tell you a little about my family and myself.  My husband, Blair, grew up in Peoria and has been the director of Cardiac Rehab at Proctor Hospita for 26 years. I went to school in the Quad Cities and we met at Miami of Ohio where we were married after graduation. We have 3 children, Colin, the youngest, was married in June To Krissy. They live in Chicago where he is an architect for SOM and she works for Turner Industries.  Our daughter, Lindsay, her husband, Brent, and their 2 1/2 year old son, Hunter, moved back to Peoria this year. She is an attorney at Cat and he is a sports writer at the Journal Star. I get to "Nana-sit"often! Our oldest son, Geoff, and his family (Sarah, Gabriel (6) and 4 year old, Addison) live in Tennessee where Geoff is a Captain in the 101st Airborne Division.  He just returned from Iraq and will soon be moving his family to Washington
DC .

This is my 24nd formal year of teaching, but I’ve also taught in grant programs and special classes at levels from Pre-K through adult.  First grade used to be my favorite, but I think second is now tied!! One of my personal goals is to increase understanding between all cultures and to help your children rejoice in their differences and uniqueness!
