Homework

In 5th grade responsibility is key. Homework will be given on a daily basis in order to extend on what we are working on in class. A small portion of the day will be set aside for students to get a head start on this work. Students will be using agendas to keep track of their responsibilities each night. I as well as a parent/guardian will initial these agendas for the first few months. Please check these agendas as well as assignments until we get into a routine.

Homework Policy

Students who do not turn in or complete an assignment, the first day, will be lowered one letter grade. If a student does not turn in the late assignment on the second day they will receive a zero for that assignment. Students will use their recess as a study hall to complete the assignment. If and when late homework or incomplete homework becomes a problem other arrangements may need to be made. Please encourage your students to pack their bag each night ensuring they have everything they need for the next day. The office phone will no longer be used to call home for these things.

If a student does not have any late work for the week the student will get to spin a spinner for a prize. If a student does not have any late work for the entire grading period, they will be invited to participate in a dessert buffet during their lunch period.
